2000 MFL Awards

Streetsville Sports
won their first ever MFL Playoff Championship in 2000, beating the Mudcats by scores of 3-1, 5-4 and 2-1 in a three-game sweep of the six-point final.

The Mississauga MPH Graphics Chiefs were the MFL 2000 Regular Season Champions, compiling a 14-6-1 record to run away with the title.

Scott Wagar of the Mississauga MPH Graphics Chiefs is the 2000 MFL Most Valuable Pitcher. Wagar led the Chiefs to an overwhelming first-place finish during the regular season with a 9-3-1 record with two saves. In 87 1/3 innings Wagar struck out 108 batters and finished the season with a 1.44 ERA.

Todd Townsend
of the Palermo Athletics was named the MFL Most Valuable Player for 2000. Townsend was Palermo's most dangerous stick, hitting for both power and average, was a threat on the bases and solid defensively.

Streetsville Sports' Colin Fraser is the 2000 MFL Playoff MVP. Fraser slugged three home runs during Streetsville's run to the title in which they eliminated Palermo 6 points to 2 in the semis before sweeping the Mudcats 6-0.

Blair Setford of the Mississauga MPH Graphics Chiefs was named the 2000 recipient of the Hazel McCallion Award for Sportsmanship and Dedication to the League.
